University of Delaware College Trip

Our mission is to equip children and young adults through Christ with the skills necessary for academic achievement, life management, personal growth and servant leadership.  The college vision trip for 3rd-8th grade students  is one way we do this. This is an overnight trip to the University of Delaware, consisting of tours, discussions, and other activities to expose the children to what college can hold.

In order to participate, the students show excellent behavior, come to camp on a regular basis, and write an essay on why they want to go to college. We believe going to visit a University opens their eyes to what college is, and hopefully make it a real option.

A quote from a middle school student’s essay:
“I think I should visit colleges at my age so I am prepared for what I will be faced with at college. Also, I could just see what a college looks like. Maybe they will let me talk to some of the students. I would ask them if college is fun. If I wanted to get prepared for getting into college I would have to get good grades.”

$3.50 will sponsor a gallon of gas for the vans

$8.00  provides the admission cost for ice skating

$23 sponsors all the meals and activities for one child for the weekend, or

$75 will provide an entire camp lunch at Grotto Pizza.
