Humbled & Exhilarated

Dear Friend,

Today’s Paddle for Promise was all we could have hoped for, perhaps even more (and you can still give!). It was a pleasing fusion of exhilaration and feeling humbled. Humbled by the outpouring of support by donors: your gifts have pushed us over $100,000! Humbled by the level of commitment from paddlers and staff who showed up and executed beautifully. Humbled by the grace God so generously blesses us with.

Exhilarated to see our community pull together for a big cause with important outcomes and do it with their whole hearts. Exhilarated by seeing all those canoes on the river and watching all those teams pull up to the dock. Oh, and $100,000! That is pretty exhilarating too!

But the most beautiful thing I experienced today was the joy, purpose, and fantastic attitudes and work of our StreetLeader teens. The very thing we hope our Paddle for Promise would support, transformed futures for urban teens, was right there on display in the countenance and willing hearts of every one of our teens today. What a living message of hope. I was so proud and inspired by them.

See for yourself! Here is a great video prepared by Channel 6 Action News:

For those who have contributed, thank you!

Good news! For those who have not had time to open the link and contribute, you can still give to support these outstanding teenage leaders! We’ll keep the link open for a couple weeks. I know from experience, many people still want to give but think when the Paddle is over it’s too late. Supporting our teens is never too late, so go for it!

Thank you, God bless you, and God bless our children.
