Memory Making Spring Break Trips

SBT banner.001

Can you remember a favorite vacation from your childhood?  Did you go somewhere new with people who cared about you?

This year the children and youth of of our after school programs have the the opportunity to go on one of three spring break trips.  They will travel to new places with the camp staff who care about them.  They will build stronger relationships and experience Christ in new ways as well as build life long memories. They earned the opportunity to go by good behavior and attendance and participating in the Speech Competition.

Six children from Camp Freedom are heading to Arkansas with Camp Director Kristin Walker to kayak, hiking, visit local museums, and even do a service project while they are there.  They will travel to Memphis, TN for a day trip to visit the zoo, the National Civil Rights Museum and walk along Beale Street.

25 children from Camps Hope, Victory and Promise will travel to Boston.  There they will visit the aquarium, a science museum and enjoy the time with their camp staff.

The middle schoolers from Camps Harmony and Amen and heading to Oklahoma and Kansas to experience farm life, hiking, riding horses with the families and friends of Camp Directors Salima Watson and Joel Orr.  The funds for this trip have already been raised by the middle schoolers holding bake and popcorn sales, a Red Robin dinner night, the awesome Jenn Smith running a marathon and collecting funds, plus donations from supporters of Salima, Joel and Samantha Hindman and other individuals.

Funds are still need for the elementary trips.  Can you help by:

Fund a gallon or more of gas for one of the vans going to Boston or the day trip to Memphis?
Sponsor dinner out at McDonald’s on SONIC for a couple kids or the group?
Purchase City Pass admission tickets for our children to see the museums in Boston?
Purchase admission for the Memphis Zoo?
