Raising up the next generation of urban Christian leaders

UrbanPromise School

The mission of Urban Promise School is to offer a quality, affordable Christian education to children from low and moderate income urban families. It is the aim of UPS to develop the academic life of every student using a God-centered, holistic approach: nurturing and challenging each child intellectually, physically, socially, and spiritually, using God's Word as the source of truth.

We envision a stream of Wilmington's young people going forward from the Urban Promise School into lives of meaning, achievement, and service to others. Founded in 2002, UPS currently consists of five classes (Pre-K 4 to Grade 4) with plans to add a grade each year through fifth grade. Art, music and gym classes are a regular part of the weekly curriculum. Children have access to a 1000 volume library and computer lab. Tuition fees are set using a sliding scale based on family income. Donations from individuals and churches provide scholarship funds to subsidize tuition payments.
