The Joy of Work Groups

Last week, First Presbyterian Church of Honesdale, PA traveled to Wilmington to bless us with their enthusiasm and labor. The twenty-two volunteers were an encouraging help with both the camps and work projects. This is the 3rd year that First Presbyterian Church has been at Wilmington and we were delighted to serve with them once again. We pray that God worked in their hearts during their experience and will continue to after. We would love to see them again next year! Here are some pictures and encouraging thoughts from some of their members:

HOPE has been so much more clearly defined for me. I’ve struggled with it for a very long time in my life. Here it seems to be the foundation, and coincidentally the camp where I spent my week. Having Only Prayerful Expectations.

I will never forget being part of the game at Camp Harmony. In the eating challenge, one of the kids stood behind me, and put their arms around to feed me. The best part was we beat the other team!

We expierenced the UrbanPromise community through camp activities, talking with interns and helping with their classes, and dinner Friday night with the staff that make up the UrbanPromise family.

When I’ve had to go away from home and family, I’ve struggled with nervousness and anxiety, and that was the case last year. I’ve had great peace on this trip. God wanted me here and I pray that I have done all to His glory.

UrbanPromise is such a fabulous organization. You give kids a chance and show them God’s true love. You also give them structure and discipline that they so need. God is so clearly at work here!
