Spring Break Groups Lead World Cultures

This week the students of James Madison University and the College of William & Mary are going into the Urban Promise School classrooms to launch our study of the continent of Europe for our World Culture study project. Thus far we have visited the continents of Africa, North America, and Latin America.

We have been learning about the languages, beliefs, foods and traditions of the people living around our globe. As we learn about others we gain insight into ourselves. Students are learning that they are citizens of the world, not merely inhabitants of their own neighborhoods and country. This global perspective broadens students’ understanding of our collective responsibility to care for the resources and fellow members of our worldwide community.

Many thanks to these spring break work group students for their investment in our children!
